Bringing a heat-damaged DJ console back to life
The problem
A DJ's console spent too long in a parked car, and the heat deformed its buttons — leaving the unit unusable. Replacement parts weren't available for the model, and a full console replacement made no sense for a few damaged buttons.
Our approach
We reverse-engineered the button geometry from the deformed originals, restoring the correct dimensions, fit, and travel. The replacements were printed in transparent PETG — chosen to match the look of the original translucent buttons while offering better heat resistance than the parts that failed.
The result
A full set of replacement buttons was printed and delivered in 2 days. They fitted the original mechanism directly and returned the console to full working condition — for the cost of a few printed parts instead of a new console.
